CARES PROGRAM

Elevating the C in the YMCA

The CARES Program provides families and individuals the opportunities to experience and know Christ through community-based programs, activities, and partnerships with churches and Christian organizations.

Program Overview

HISTORY
The YMCA was birthed on June 6, 1844 when a 22-year-old George Williams gathered twelve men and started a Bible study in London, England. Williams was deeply concerned about the physical and spiritual well-being of young men who were flocking to London from their rural homes to seek employment in the ever expanding industrialization of the day. As a result, the YMCA reached many young men for Jesus Christ.
Now, almost 175 years later the YMCA of Orange County is striving to continue the legacy established by George Williams.

OUR MISSION

The YMCA longs to be more than just a place to work out, but as a place that dramatically impacts the people it touches. Through the CARES Program we strive to fulfill our purpose by walking hand-in-hand each day to make a lasting difference in our communities and in the lives of the people we serve.
