The Annual Hollywood Bag Ladies Luncheon, benefiting Lupus LA, is the premiere charity event bringing together the most stylish and fabulous of LA\u2019s \u201cladies who lunch.\u201d Since its launch in 2003, the event has featured some of the most prominent names in fashion and haute couture. Presently, 90% of people living with lupus are women. In recognition of that statistic, this year\u2019s Bag Ladies Luncheon will be focused on celebrating our female patients, and will create an environment of beauty, empowerment and strength.<\/p>\n

A woman with lupus is like a vintage handbag\u2014the scuffs tell her story, the wear makes her wise, the experience makes her a classic\u2014and she is revered by all.\u00a0 The Hollywood Bag Ladies Luncheon is an opportunity for all women to celebrate the beauty and strength that is born from our challenges.<\/p>\n

This year, we are proud to honor Sheila Barbarino, MD <\/strong>with the Woman of Achievement Award. Dr. Barbarino\u00a0is a board-certified surgeon with a fellowship in oculo-facial plastics\/cosmetic plastic surgery. She specializes in full body and face cosmetic surgery and is best known for her comprehensive treatments for all skin types, including those with autoimmune disorders. She is a world-renowned speaker, teacher, and lecturer at medical symposiums who focuses on cutting edge technology and techniques.<\/p>\n
