We are proud to be a part of such a special community event\, as we work together to find a cure and increase awareness for lupus. Members of Team Lupus LA FUNdraise to help lupus patients in need\, with the proceeds going towards our Emergency Grant Program\, patient services\, local fellowships\, and research for a cure. \nBy being a member of Team Lupus LA\, you will have access to fundraising tips\, the chance to win special prizes\, and can participate in special team events prior to race day\, including a pre-race pasta dinner. Each team member will receive a Team Lupus LA t-shirt\, and a Team Lupus LA Swag Bag\, filled with lots of goodies for race day! \n  \nMembers of Team Lupus LA in the 2015 LA Big 5K \nLast year we raised over $95\,000\, and it was because of all of our amazing team members. This event is on Saturday\, February 13\, 2016. \nSkechers Performance Los Angeles MARATHON – The marathon is 26.2 miles. The course starts at Dodger Stadium\, runs through many iconic Los Angeles landmarks\, and ends at the beautiful Santa Monica Pier. This event is on Sunday\, February 14\, 2016. \nSkechers Performance Los Angeles Marathon CHARITY RELAY – Members of charity teams can enter the charity relay\, which is where two partners split the marathon and run it together. One partner does the first half of the course\, beginning at Dodger Stadium\, and the second partner runs the last half\, ending at the beautiful Santa Monica Pier. This event is on Sunday\, February 14\, 2016. \n  \nRegistering for Team Lupus LA\nSign up for Team Lupus LA at Crowdrise: https://www.crowdrise.com/teamlupusla2016. This is the ONLY place you will need to register – it’s a one-stop shop! \nClicking HERE will allow you to: \n\nSign up for the team\nSet up your fundraising page\nPay for your race entry\n\n  \nThe price for each event is as follows:\nLA BIG 5K — $40 (with a $3 processing fee) \nSkechers Performance Los Angeles Marathon — $170 (with a $9 processing fee) \nSkechers Performance Los Angeles Marathon Charity Relay — $275 total\, or $137.50 each (with a $7.50 processing fee per person) \nRegistration fills up fast\, so please sign up by December 18\, 2015! \nInteract Club members cheering on Team Lupus LA in the 2015 LA Marathon! \nFundraising Commitments\nEach member of Team Lupus LA will make a fundraising commitment. This is dependent on the event you are running/walking in: \nFUNDRAISING COMMITMENTS\nLA BIG 5K – $350 \nSkechers Performance Los Angeles Marathon – $650 \nCharity Relay – $650 per person \nFundraising commitments will be enforced. When you register for Team Lupus LA\, you will be asked to sign a waiver\, and to provide your credit card information\, to commit to this fundraising minimum. If you have not met your fundraising commitment by March 4\, 2016\, your credit card will be charged for the remaining balance due. \nPlease note that your registration fee ($43 for the 5K\, $179 for the marathon\, and $145 for the charity relay) WILL count towards your fundraising goal! \nThere will be prizes given for different fundraising levels! Since 2000\, the Orange Ball has raised over $4 million for lupus research and local patient programs. \nThis year\, the Orange Ball is taking on a whole new feel. We’re moving away from the ballroom and onto the “New York Street” set at Fox Studios. \nJoin us on June 6th for an elegant street party\, with fantastic food\, live music\, entertainment throughout the venue\, award presentations\, and more. We look forward to celebrating the superheroes of lupus with you. \nEach year we give awards to those who strive to make the world better for those living with lupus\, whether it is through research\, charitable gifts\, spreading awareness and more. Jordan is well-known for his roles in television and film\, including Friday Night Lights\, Fruitvale Station\, and the upcoming Fantastic Four. Michael is also an avid supporter of Lupus LA. The cause is close to his heart\, as his mother has lupus. As a Lupus LA Ambassador has helped increase lupus awareness and raise important dollars for research.\n\n\n\nDaniel J. Wallace Founders Award Michelle & Alan KayeLupus LA Board of Directors\, Philanthropists \n\nMichelle and Alan Kaye are important members of our community and are involved in numerous philanthropic efforts. Because of their family connection to lupus\, their primary focus is Lupus LA. As members of the Lupus LA Board of Directors\, they have helped guide the organization to become stronger and more recognized throughout Southern California.\n\n\n\nMedical Visionary Award C. Andrew Schroeder\, MDPulmonologist\, Lupus LA Medical Advisory Board \n\nDr. Schroeder is a pulmonologist and member of the Lupus LA Medical Advisory Board. His dedication to all of his patients\, but especially those living with lupus\, is exemplary.
